Can I contact my child whilst they are at Bradley Wood?
Should you need to contact a young person who is staying with us at Bradley Wood, you should always contact them through the pre-named Home Contact, Leader or Person in Charge of the group that they are with.
Do any staff live on site at Bradley Wood?
Our Camp Warden lives on site at Bradley Wood all year round. Members of our volunteer Service Team also live here every weekend. During the summer months the camp site is always staffed.
Is there a shop at Bradley Wood?
There are 2 shops at Bradley Wood. The Providore is based next to the campsite reception and stocks a massive range of souvenirs, sweets and drinks. It opens every weekend and during the week by prior arrangement. There is also an official Scout Shop based in the Jubilee Centre that sells uniforms, resources and badges. This shop is open between the hours of 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, late night on Thursday 7pm to 9pm and on Saturday morning between the hours of 10am to 12pm.
Can I come camping with my friends and family?
Unfortunately, we are not a public campsite and only accept bookings from Scout & Guide, other youth organisations or corporate customers. The public are allowed access to the site for private functions or publicised events only.
Can I volunteer at Bradley Wood?
Our Volunteer Service Team come all year round and help keep Bradley Wood looking fantastic and help to deliver all our customer programmes. We are always looking for new recruits so either give us a call or pop down to see us.
Will my child be safe at Bradley Wood?
At Bradley Wood we aim to ensure that those who visit us are kept safe and well whilst here. Our Camp Site is run by West Yorkshire Scouts, part of the Scout Association and we follow the Association’s clear code of behaviour regarding safeguarding called ‘Young People First’. All the adults who work and volunteer at Bradley Wood must undertake a Criminal Record Check called a DBS Check, before starting volunteering and must also complete the Scout Association Safeguarding Awareness Training.
What qualifications do your instructors hold?
All our instructors are fully qualified for the activities they instruct. We ensure that that the standards our instructors operate to, are fully in line with the standards required by your organisation; hence where necessary our instructors are qualified to National Governing Body standard.
Do you have risk assessments for the buildings and the activities?
All our activities and buildings are fully risk assessed and these risk assessments are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure they remain relevant and correct.
Is my group fully insured?
Bradley Wood is insured through the Scout Association. We carry Public Liability insurance and additional insurance cover for our instructors when running an activity for your group. Any other insurance provided by the Scout Association only covers members of the Scout Association. If you are a non-Scout Association organisation then you are not covered by us. You must arrange your own insurance cover for everything involved during your stay.
Payments and Cancellations
How can I make payment?
Payment can be made by Cash, Cheque (made payable to Bradley Wood), Credit or Debit Card. We can also accept payments direct to our bank account before you arrive. Just contact us for the bank details and then quote the booking number as the payment reference.
What if I can’t come on my booking?
Our cancellation terms are payment in full if you cancel within 4 weeks of the date of arrival.
If you cancel within 8 weeks of the date of arrival then you just owe the deposit.
